Thanks for the info, VGC, but your links suck

VGC’s Chris Scullion:

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided composer has released a collection of unused music from the game

This was extremely welcome news, especially when it’s free. (Well, you have to give Bandcamp your email address, but it’s free in monetary terms.)

It would have been nice, though, if the writer had included a link to the album page, or the composer’s own webpage, or anything related. There is one (1) link in the story, and it’s to VGC’s “Mac gaming” category page… because “Fragments of the Machine” has “Mac” in it, I guess, and the post’s perpetrator either didn’t want to link to the source material for some antireason or has a quota of internal links to fill.

I suspected for a second that the post was written by AI, but the more likely explanation is that the writer just didn’t put in the effort. This might be understandable, though – VGC is supported by [at time of writing) 500-odd Patreon members plus whatever pennies they get from online advertising, so they probably don’t pay shit and Scullion has to spit out articles as fast as he can (at time of writing, 28 in the last week) to make the gig worthwhile…
