So I saw this, about Apple’s new limited-edition designer cell phone holster:

…and my first thought was: is $230 higher or lower than the median price of all the phones I’ve ever owned? On reflection, it’s probably higher; I’ve had a few flagship phones lately, but for a lot of years I went for budget phones that had my (then lower) minimum desired specs; most of them were reassuringly rugged, too. And SD card slots were still a thing phones had back then, so I wasn’t even missing out on storage.

The last cell phone holster I bought cost me (IIRC) about $15; if I ever find myself paying $230 for one, I’ll take that as a sign that I have too much disposable income.
