I saw a slightly edited version of that headline on Twitter:

…and my immediate reaction was to quote-tweet it with “Because I’m a Brit, and I think using actual armed cops for civility policing is normal #savedyouaclick.”
I decided to read the article first, though, just in case, and it turns out the only invocation of deadly force is in the headline. A more accurate headline would be:
Why people who act like choads when drunk should maybe not get drunk in public
So the question becomes: did the columnist write that headline herself, or did the Independent foist it on her?
